“Physical force is no match for Soul force.” Bernice King
This statement has remained with me since her remarks at Congressman Lewis’ HomeGoing Service. The fire that comes from the soul is what gives us the umph to move forward when the physical strength declines. It motivates us to propel go another step when we feel body and mind weary. The soul was there from birth, even before we took on our human form and when we transition, the essence of our soul will be left as legacy and remembrance,
So, while we are here, remember to “Be the Light.” It already beams inside of us. We were born with it. Sometimes we forget or don’t want to remember who we really are and get pulled away from what makes us shine. Fear is at the top of the list. Yet, at our core, we are Love expressing and wanting to express itself. We must recognize and use our gifts as Congressman Lewis did. He had a compassion for justice that revealed itself early in life. Sometimes, we think of gifts as big things like singing, painting, oratory, etc. Yet listening, showing kindness, compassion, baking, cooking, serving, inspiring, making people feel better, recognizing another’s needs, and sending cards are also gifts. What is(are) your gift(s)? Are you using them? Who benefits? Be the Light!
